An update on all of the big sports moments throughout the month of January:
James Harden is Traded to the Nets
On January 13, James Harden was traded to the Nets. James Harden was with the Rockets for 8 years. In his time with the Rockets he won a MVP and was elected to 8 all-star games. The trade sent Victor Oladipo, Dante Exum, Rodions Kurucs, 3 BKN first-rounders, 1 MIL first round pick and 4 BKN 1st round swaps to the Rockets. It also gave the Pacers Caris LeVert and a 2nd-rounder and the Cavaliers Jarrett Allen and Taurean Prince. Some important things that were in this trade are first, the Nets traded away their first round picks 2021-2023. Also the nets traded away two young players in Caris LeVert and Jarrett Allan. Both of these players were great picks by the Nets franchise and they threw it all out the window for one man. Another big star that was traded from the Pacers was Victor Oladipo. In his 7 year career he has averaged 17 points and been selected to 1 all star game. The main point of the trade is that Harden is now paired with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving to be one of the best teams in the league.
Super Bowl 55
On February 7th the Buccaneers will take the field against the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. The Buccaneers come into the game as the underdog as they have in all their playoff games. The one advantage they do have is they are the first team in the history of the NFL to play in their home stadium in the Super Bowl. They also have one of the best athletes in the world in Tom Brady. Brady won 6 Super Bowls with the New England Patriots but after losing in the wild card round last year he went to free agency and was picked up by the Buccaneers. Now on the other hand, the Chiefs have the next great quarterback in Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs are determined to win back to back championships which has not been done since, ironically Super Bowl 38 and 39 when Tom Brady and the Patriots went back to back. No doubt this will be a great Super Bowl no matter how wins.
